This is one of 15 identical little bungalows lined up right next to one another in South Truro, Massachusetts located along Route 6A right on the water's edge.  These buildings are some of the most charming and quaint structures that I have ever seen.  I did a painting of all of them lined up in a row some years back, and it was the very first painting that I ever sold as a young, struggling artist.  This location will always have a very special place in my heart.

28" x 18"
oil on linen (framed)
$3200

This is a close up view of an old detached garage located in Saddle Brook, New Jersey which was  discovered while riding my bicycle in Saddle River Park.  I loved the look and feel of the decrepit siding and classic old  light fixture, which has recently been taken down and disposed of.  This painting gave me the opportunity to use broken brushwork to render the texture of the weathered wood and aging metal and glass.

NYC, NY
22" x 18"

This tavern was opened in 1868, by Patrick Henry Carley.  It is one of the oldest continually operating establishments in New York City today.
In 1868 Patrick Henry Carley opened his Landmark Tavern, an Irish Waterfront Saloon. In those days there was no 12th Avenue, just the shores of the Hudson, on which his Tavern sat. Mr. and Mrs. Carley designed their new saloon to also be a practical home for their children on the second and third floors. This remained as such until prohibition forced them to turn the third floor into a speakeasy. As one of the oldest continually operating establishments in the CIty today, The Landmark Tavern still retains its classic old New York charm.

MAINE MEETING HOUSE
BIDDEFORD, ME
14" x 20"
oil on linen (framed)
$1800

This is a meeting house in Maine that I found while vacationing there one Winter with my family.  We like to drive up the coast, making detours inland along the way to explore the areas and find quaint little places like this for possible subject matter.  I was immediately drawn to this historic building as soon as I laid eyes upon it.

DOORWAY AT TWILIGHT
FAIR LAWN, NJ
18" x 22"
oil on linen (framed)
$2200

This is a doorway to an old stone house located in Fair Lawn, New Jersey that I found while riding my bicycle in Saddle River Park.  I like the interplay between the warm artificial light and the cool reflected light of the evening sky upon the wooden archway.  I think that the open door also adds a welcoming feel to this scene.  It is as if you can walk right in and walk up the stairs.
